Rwanda is called as the ‘land of thousand hills’, with the capital city of Kigali being located amidst the scenic hilly ranges. Although the terrain and ecology is beautiful, it also possesses a strong constraint. Thus, the Regional Center at the southern periphery demonstrates use of slopes and preservation of wetland edges, upholding the sustainable parameters. This Green Gateway reiterates and enriches the scenic “green character” maintaining the 'green' memory of the place. Concept is to enhance connectivity and face the wetlands through programs like expo, offices, retail, business park and mixed use entertainment zone, keeping the wetlands intact. Role: Design development for 230 ha, detail guidelines for 100 ha commercial core and graphics. Credit/Copywrite: Surbana Jurong Pvt Ltd.
